Tacrefite Eye Ointment is a medicine used to treat allergic eye disease. It also prevents rejection after corneal transplant surgery. It works by suppressing the action of a protein (calcineurin). Tacrefite Eye Ointment decreases the production of inflammatory chemicals by certain immune cells (T lymphocytes) and relieves redness and swelling. Never use Tacrefite Eye Ointment if the seal is broken before you use it for the first time. Wash your hands before using it. Follow the instructions given by your doctor and use it in the dose and duration suggested by the doctor. Make sure you remove contact lenses if you wear them and wait for at least 15 minutes before putting them back. You must inform your doctor if theres no improvement even after two weeks of treatment or if it gets worse. The most common side effects of Tacrefite Eye Ointment include eye irritation and burning sensation. Do not use Tacrefite Eye Ointment if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding.
